The Main Contractor who has a contract with the owner of a project or job, and has the full responsibility for its completion. The Main Contractor undertakes to perform a complete contract, and may employ (and manage) one or more subcontractors to carry out specific parts of the contract.
A milestone represents the completion or achievement of a significant event during the construction schedule. An example of a milestone may be the laying of the concrete slab for a floor of a building. In a construction based payment plan, the completion of a milestone is linked to payments. When the milestone is achieved and certified as complete an invoice is released to the owner of an off-plan property for payment.
